PECOS Search is a web application that provides access to the most recent data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) about the profile information and PECOS enrollment status of healthcare providers in the United States.
The Provider, Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS) is a database where physicians register with CMS, as required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which establishes that all physicians who order and refer home health services or supplies for Medicare patients must be enrolled in the PECOS program.
As of January of 2014, CMS has been rejecting Medicare claims for home health services and supplies from physicians that are not registered in PECOS.
PECOS Search provides a responsive and easy-to-use web interface that allows home health agencies to quickly look up and stay up to date with the latest physician information from CMS, thus ensuring that their patients can receive the services, supplies, and medical equipment they need.
PECOS Search is a private project not affiliated with CMS or the PECOS program in any way.
